Smart Clients

What is a Smart Client? A smart client is a thin client with an embedded version of Microsoft Windows. This allows for access to web applications without the complete dependence on a desktop application server. This solution is built for applications running on new XML technologies, .NET Framework, and Microsoft Office 2003. A centralized server is still used to update software and add hardware device support.

Who should use Smart Clients?
Smart Clients can be used in the place of normal thin client applications, but are designed to work in Microsoft Windows based environments. A company that already uses Microsoft .NET and Office 2003+ products will benefit from the reduced IT overhead Smart Clients provide. Additionally, once a Smart Client solution is in place, companies can expand at a rapid pace without feeling IT growing pains.

WSL Technologies supports a large range of Smart Client units and applications. If you are interested in more information please contact us.
