Biometrics Access Control

Why Biometrics?

Improved Security
Frequently, users choose passwords that are easy to guess while resisting large passwords that must be changed often. Using Smart Cards, fingerprints and iris maps to secure your resources eliminates this problem and the network breeches caused by lax passwords. Biometric security is equivalent to thousands of complex character passwords, making your network both much more secure and easier on your users.

Seamless Access
Instead of using different passwords to secure the many facets of your business, why not use a single seamless secure biometric logon and never have to remember a password again?

Accountability
Fingerprints and iris maps cannot be given away, increasing the accountability of resource users.

Cost Savings
Biometrics decreases administrative overhead by lowering the amount of resource access related support calls, as users will no longer have problems with forgetting their passwords.

Versatility
Biometric devices can be installed in keyboards, mice, wall mounted key pads or as stand alone devices. Physical access control can be mixed with digital access control, increasing the efficiency of your company's security solution. Biometric devices can also be combined to increase security even more, such as using passwords with smart cards or fingerprints with Smart Cards.

What solutions are available?

Smart Card
Smart Cards are credit card sized pass cards that allow secure access to physical and digital systems. Smart Cards are generally used with small key numbers or fingerprint authentication to protect against theft. Smart Card readers are available in keypads, keyboards, monitors and standalone devices. Smart Card authentication is also the lowest cost Biometric solution available.

Fingerprint
Fingerprint readers work by taking a sophisticated map of a persons fingerprint. Readers are available in keypads, mice, keyboards, and standalone devices.

Iris
Iris readers are the most advanced form of biometric security and the most expensive. Iris readers are best suited for high security environments. Readers are available in keypad (single eye/dual eye) and standalone devices. Iris readers can be used to access both digital networks and physical locations.
